My WHY
There is a story behind every life-threatening diagnosis; a patient who is processing the news, a family overwhelmed with sadness and a fragmented healthcare system that often amplifies the confusion. This was my family when my mother-in-law fought lung cancer. Solving for swift access to life-saving therapies, for me, it’s personal! I am committed to advocacy and helping our patients focus on their health. It’s a privilege and an honor to lead a business that supports patients living with cancer and rare diseases.
Ela leads McKesson Specialty Pharmacy Solutions, to include Biologics and the McKesson medially integrated dispensary (MID) business. In her previous role as VP of Biopharma Services for Biologics by McKesson, Lourido led a multi-disciplinary team of industry thought leaders responsible for commercialization strategy, clinical innovation, launch excellence, strategic account management, 340B and data insight.
With over 18 years in the specialty pharmacy market, Ela is vastly experienced in building and growing high performing teams, innovative specialty pharmacy delivery models, payer and manufacturer relations, business integration & strategic planning, complex & large-scale program implementations, account management, technology solutions, central fill, training, quality improvement and operational excellence. Prior to joining Biologics, Ela worked as an industry consultant focused on pediatric rare disease. Prior to that role, she was part of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy’s senior leadership team.
Ela holds a Bachelor of Science from Aquinas College and an MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Texas.
