OJJAARA, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on September 15, 2023, is an orally administered drug for the treatment of myelofibrosis (MF) in adults with anemia. MF is a rare blood cancer that results from dysregulated JAK-signal transduce and activator of transcription protein signaling and is characterized by constitutional symptoms, splenomegaly, and progressive anemia. Myelofibrosis affects approximately 20,000 patients in the U.S., with about forty percent of patients already anemic at the time of diagnosis and nearly all patients estimated to develop anemia eventually.¹ ²
