Elevate adherence with oncology clinical management
Our nurse-led clinical care supports patient adherence for cancer therapies while keeping providers and biopharma partners informed throughout the journey.
Infuse 30+ years of experience into every patient journey
Biologics by McKesson was developed more than three decades ago specifically to help biopharma partners bring complex oncology therapies to market. From the beginning, we’ve cultivated strong relationships with oncology providers, evolved our specialty pharmacy offerings, and supported complex protocols with operational rigor.
Today, we channel the sum of our multidisciplinary oncology knowledge into meaningful collaborations with our biopharma partners. Together, we design therapy‑specific, patient‑relevant programs that support adherence and side effect management — two objectives critical to positive outcomes.
Our Biologics organization has earned accreditation from key organizations focused on stringent benchmarks for quality care in the oncology space.
High‑touch oncology clinical support
Through close partnership with biopharma, Biologics delivers tailored oncology clinical support grounded in coordinated pharmacist and nurse expertise, ongoing assessment and timely clinical intervention. This model reflects treatment complexity and the realities of each patient’s journey, with a strong focus on helping patients manage side effects that can disrupt therapy. Our risk‑based approach helps biopharma partners promote adherence and continuity of care by aligning support to evolving patient needs rather than relying on a one‑size‑fits‑all model.
I’ve been impressed with the proactive communication all around — from getting set‑up as a patient, to refills and nurse follow‑ups… The nurse follow‑ups provide tremendous peace of mind… This has been the most seamless experience for prescriptions or medical care I have ever received.
Future forward: risk-based oncology care
Biologics’ risk-based care delivers a more personalized clinical experience for patients at higher risk of nonadherence. By continuously evaluating patient needs and providing timely, individualized nurse support, the model goes beyond one-size-fits-all care to address challenges that can disrupt therapy. The result is proactive, patient-centered support designed to help patients stay on treatment as long as clinically appropriate while supporting improved outcomes for biopharma partners.
For Dan W., his leukemia diagnosis not only came as a shock — it also came with a complex regimen of IV chemotherapy and oral oncolytics to navigate. Learn how Dan’s “guardian angel” helped him break down barriers to medication adherence with risk-based, relationship-built clinical support.
Calculating the patient impact of risk-based oncology care
+ 1.8

Frequently asked questions: oncology clinical support
What oncology diagnoses does Biologics support?
Our pharmacists and nurses bring deep expertise supporting patients across all cancer types, including solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and rare or complex oncology diagnoses
Does Biologics provide clinical support for patients with pediatric cancers?
Yes, our clinical programs support patients of all ages and their caregivers, delivering tailored oncology adherence and side-effect management across every life stage.
How can Biologics support financial access to costly oncology therapies?
Proactive financial assistance navigation is a part of all Biologics clinical support programs. We help patients connect with patient assistance programs (PAPs), foundation grants, copay programs and other financial and social resources in an effort to eliminate financial hardship as a barrier to treatment.
Can Biologics nurses submit letters of appeal for denied claims?
Providers are responsible for submitting appeal letters; however, appeal support services may be available for eligible patients.
How does risk-based care work?
Risk‑based care centers on the individual patient, tailoring support based on their therapy and unique experiences. This approach allows clinicians to understand what may be standing in the patient’s way and provide targeted support to help them remain adherent to therapy.
How does risk-based Biologics support help patients?
Our risk‑based care model is especially effective for patients at higher risk of medication nonadherence. It recognizes that each patient’s needs are different and tailors the type and frequency of support to help patients succeed on their therapy
How are patients assessed for risk of medication non-adherence?
Biologics uses a proprietary risk assessment survey to generate a holistic view of how each patient is doing. The survey produces a risk score that classifies patients as high or low risk for medication non‑adherence. This score helps clinicians identify patients who may be at greater risk of falling off track with therapy and understand the specific challenges they are experiencing, allowing support to be tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Does Biologics’ clinical support address social determinants of health?
Yes. Biologics pharmacists and nurses provide holistic support that addresses both medical and non-medical needs. Through a partnership with Findhelp, Biologics connects patients to free or reduced-cost resources — such as food assistance, housing support, financial assistance and healthcare services — to help address social factors that may impact a patient’s ability to stay on therapy.
