HERNEXEOS is an orally administered kinase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors have HER2 (ERBB2) tyrosine kinase domain activating mutations, as detected by an FDA-authorized test.
“For people living with lung cancer, timely access to targeted therapies—paired with the right support—can be life‑changing,” said Ela Lourido, vice president and general manager of Biologics by McKesson. “We’re proud to partner with Boehringer Ingelheim to support access to HERNEXEOS. With deep expertise in precision oncology and a high‑touch, personalized care model, our team is ready to support patients and providers every step of the way—helping ensure those facing HER2‑mutant advanced NSCLC receive the therapy and care they need, when it matters most.”
Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common type of lung cancer and is often diagnosed at an advanced stage. In some patients, the disease is driven by specific genetic changes that cause cancer cells to grow and spread more quickly. One of these changes involves mutations in the HER2 (also known as ERBB2) gene, which affects a protein that helps control cell growth. When this pathway is overactive, it can fuel cancer progression. Identifying HER2 mutations through biomarker testing allows healthcare providers to select targeted therapies designed to address the underlying biology of the tumor.
“Ensuring people living with HER2-mutant advanced NSCLC can access HERNEXEOS, and the support they need throughout their treatment journey, is critically important,” said Vicky Brown, U.S. Senior Vice President and Head of Oncology and Emerging Disease Areas, Boehringer Ingelheim. “Through our collaboration with Biologics by McKesson, we are working to help patients, their care partners and providers navigate access to HERNEXEOS with the personalized support, resources and coordination needed at every step of care.”
